 “The vision of our legacy fund is simple. Our Lord has been faithful and generous to care for us in advance. We want to provide a way for faithful people to do the same .” 

Who We Are​

The SCPC Legacy Fund was created in 2017 to provide an endowment fund for members to provide gifts, bequests and a variety of financial trusts to support ministries of the Sturgis Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The fund operates by placing monies into an investment account under an outside investment manager who will consult and advise church trustees.

Community Is Our Legacy

  This fund allows our donors to “leave a legacy” for future ministry. Since 1910 Sturgis Cumberland Presbyterian Church has been serving this community and beyond in the name of Jesus Christ. 

By choosing to support this fund you will be stepping by faith into the future of SCPC. God will be faithful to honor that choice and order those steps.

Under the direction of the church session The Legacy Fund will support ministries beyond the normal church budget.

• Missions

• Children and youth

• Music and worship

• Build or make improvements to our existing facility.

Contributions to SCPC Legacy Fund may be given in a number of ways, such as:

  • CASH OR CHECKS—the most common and convenient method of giving to SCPC Legacy Fund.
  • SECURITIES, STOCKS, BONDS, MUTUAL FUNDS—securities can be transferred or assigned to SCPC Legacy Fund. These gifts allow you to deduct the fair market value of the security and avoid capital gains tax.
  • REAL ESTATE—donations of a property such as a gift of homes, farms, rental property, commercial property, or other types of real estate.
  • BUSINESS GIFTS—receive a tax benefit when your business contributes to a non-profit organization like SCPC Legacy Fund.
  • PLANNED GIVING (WILLS AND BEQUESTS)—naming SCPC Legacy Fund as a beneficiary in your estate planning can help support this ministry for future generations.
  • OTHER GIFTS IN KIND—whether it’s an airplane, antiques, cars, coins, boats, or jewelry, SCPC Legacy Fund can auction or sell these items and put these funds to use toward key projects.
